I've made so many mental notes to myself about updating this journal and my LiveJournal (ModernRurouni for those who are inclined)

Anyways....

At the beginning of February my internet got disconnected because I couldn't afford my bill due to my hours getting cut back drastically at work on top of missing two weekends due to a cold and a very bad earache. finally got reconnected two weeks ago.

I have a whole bunch of cosplay photos to upload when I can figure out what to say about them. My girlfriend Kitsu (~SariaTaviSoodo)and I have been doing some experiments with shooting at the same location at different times of day with some interesting results.

I've been working hard the last few weeks on turning a few of these shots into paintings for my portrait and landscape painting classes.

The first is a studio shot of both paintings on the easel during portrait class today. You can see my classmates and the model we were working with in the background. The second is my portrait final which is oil on stretched canvas. The third is my final for landscape painting and is oil on Masonite board. My camera and the poor studio lighting killed the colors on these. I'm rather proud of these. It's my first time doing really tight work like this and I've found that I'm actually enjoying it a lot. It's nice at the end of the day to look at something and say 'that actually looks like fabric with a real ass underneath'...

I think I've pretty much missed the deadline for signing up for a table in Artist's Ally at ConnectiCon so you'll probably find Kisu and I roaming the floor and playing cards like we always do. If anyone is interested in playing marathon Skip-Bo with us let us know! (If you don't know how to play it is so easy) I was thinking of printing special cards out featuring my Org. XIII chibis when they're finished.

Speaking of which I'm currently working on Roxas. Zexion, Demyx, Marluxia, and Larxene are all drawn out in my sketchbook.

I'm not sure if we're gonna get around to our Org. XIII cosplay because I'm short on money this year and still need to get Kitsu's Sora wig. Not to mention my sister still needs her Kairi dress...

We'll have to see how much I can earn when I get out of class in May.

Speaking of May... less than a month till I turn 22....

No seriously.... I'm waiting for it to fall down in huge chunks sometime.... I really am.

At the point I wrote the last entry I was completely besides myself. My one and a half year relationship was at a standstill, I was (and still am) getting sick at work because of anxiety related stress, I wasn't taking care of myself, my apartment was a pigsty.

And out of the blue my partner in crime Kichou calls me out of the blue saying she had been in touch with our best friend in exile who was also my last girlfriend and person most responsible for ruining a good two years of my life before I left hers completely (and for the record her as I say this it wasn't completely her fault).

So I actually got the courage to talk to the girl finding a brief glimpse of the girl I loved in highschool before she turned into an emotional train wreak. We laughed, we joked, we caught up on what had happened in the year since we last talked. She never said she was sorry for the things that drove me away but I felt a kind of unspoken apology that came in only in the knowledge that she had found a way to better herself. I finally confessed the reasons I had for spontaneously moving across the state in the course of a week and not talking to her.

And then when I had hung up the phone I sat and waited for something to happen.

And it did. My 'current' girlfriend called me up and broke up with me. Just like that. No, it wasn't a surprise I had been trying to break up with her for the better part of a month but I had been floundering because I didn't want to hurt her badly. She called me, said it was over, insulted me- saying I was a cold-hearted manipulative, abusive bitch (basically throwing everything that had happened in my previous relationship back in my face).

needless to say after calling mom up and crying like a baby for a good hour and talking to my friends I had calmed down and realized that I had just come up on top. I didn't need her in my life constatly telling me that she loved me- that I was her angel- and then viciously yelling at me the next moment for god knows what.

So hell, I'm fairly happy now I have my best friend back, I've entered into a slow and cautious relationship with my partner in crime (and by slow I mean slow). The best thing is though I feel like I've finally been able to heal after years of being hurt by first my last boyfriend, my first girlfriend, and the most recent girl. Hell I finally feel some what 'single' after constantly dating for 6 years.

And we're also making more plans for ConnectiCon as follows:

Tis a KH fanfic. The main characters are Axel and Riku (with Sora and Roxas added in later) there will be some yaoi romance (RikuSora) and a bit of insane humor at the beginning. It's basically me working out some frustration at myself.

A literate Kingdom Hearts Roleplay hosted on roliana.com that I am GMing with my partner in crime

I am currently playing as the major role of Riku as well as sharing Axel with my GF. I'm also a rather NPC-ish role of King Mickey and my OC's Lunniea (and his nobody Lunnarius) Lance, and Erebus.

You see I have developed a rather unhealthy obsession with KH, and Riku in particular.

Anyways. Our cosplay group will be at ConnectiCon again next summer. Confirmed cosplay is as follows.

Day 1: Kingdom Hearts (well duh!)

Me: Riku
KichouSoodo: Kairi
Sappho_Thiea (my GF): Axel
KatieKat (my sister who is completly new to cosplay): Sora

Katie and I will probably be doing a skit during the masquerade which will involve dancing to the remixed version of Simple & Clean, and the slow version of Sanctuary.

Day 2: (unconfirmed but most likely KH as follows)

Kichou will be changing into her Edward Elric cosplay for the Cosplay Chess.... hopefully I won't be trying to hack up a lung and will be participating as Kenshin.

Anyways....School and work are stressing me out. I had a panic attack at work the other day and my manager had to get me a Dr. Pepper so that I could calm down and breathe normally. I'm a bit of a nervous wreck now but I've been working on costumes in the evening to calm down. I'm really happy with the way my Riku vest and pants turned out and now I'm working on Sora's jacket.

I'm rather lonely now because of a lack of a roommate and I'm not exactly eating right because I have no one to cook for and have an aversion to eating leftovers.

I need to get some scans up of my drawings soon.... I've been veary lazy on that front.

So I've decided to write in my dev journal after over a year of unuse... Not that I forgot or anything...I just felt I had nothing to say...

So what's happened:

1) March: broke up with old girlfriend (the one pictured in my cosplay photos as Kaoru) over communication and understanding (rather the lack of...)

2)May: Met my current girlfriend Jean at Wal-Mart....

3) July: Debuted my new Kenshin cosplay at ConnectiCon. Also cosplayed Light from DeathNote.....

4) August: Got accepted into Paier College of Art in Hamden CT, quit job, began living on own for the first time

5) October: Attended MangaNext with *silverwinglie and Jean. Cosplayed Kenshin the entire time with Jean as Tomoe (sorry no photos)

And that's pretty much all.... I'm currently working on a myriad of school projects and various cosplays to give as gifts to people for x-mas as well as various vector projects and a photoshop vector tutorial (as requested)

Well anyway I gotta go return x-mas lights and buy more Dr. Pepper and toilet paper (I'm writing this down so I can remember lol)
